Marble Hill Strand Cottage
Project Overview
The property is situated on Marble Hill Beach and was originally built in the 1930s. It was designed by Bond Architects. It is right on the beach front with fantastic sea views. The planning was very strict on the style of the build and we had to go off of what was there previously. We did a shuttered concrete construction and installed external wall insulation. All the front windows and doors are protected with high quality shutters to protect the house from shore front storms. We finished with a K-rent, natural stone and cedar wood timber exterior finish. We added an air to water heating system with under floor heating throughout the property. It has an open plan layout design with natural light from all directions. The area outside which surrounds the property was left to its natural state and we added sheep wire to mark the boundaries and minimise the impact on the surrounding environment.
